Last week team HAVEN was down in Charlotte, NC where we hosted an incredibly moving rooftop yoga charity event, with yoga teachers from all across the Charlotte yoga community. Heading this incredible event was Kacy Pleasants yogi, mom, wife, and blogger for 'It's a Pleasant Life'. We were more than blown away by the positive energy brought to this event. She led a perfectly flowing vinyasa sequence, but in typical Kacy fashion had a DJ behind her playing top hits, and had everyone breaking into laughter with her contagious sense of humor. The night was an incredible success - bringing together the yoga community, raising money for Thompson as a part of Kacy's "Project 12" initiative, oh - and getting a ton of influential yogis in Charlotte to model HAVEN proudly.
Let's get to know a bit more about Kacy...
HC: When did you start 'It's a Pleasant Life'? What inspired you to start it?
KP: I started It's A Pleasant Life in January 2014. Prior to that I wrote a blog about living with Ulcerative Coilitis...livingwithUCintheQC. Being diagnosed with chronic disease was pretty scary considering I was a wife and a young mother. I started the old blog to tell my story. But I realized after a while... I was so much more than my disease. I was a yoga teacher, and I was funny, and I was REAL. So, i started sharing other pieces of my life and readers really caught on.

HC: If physical practice inspires your body, what inspires your mind and spirit?
KP: My mind and spirit are constantly challenged and inspired by my amazing church family. Mostly by the women of the church...their love for God is so fierce. They lift me up, and walk the walk.
HC: Any fun projects or workshops coming up for you?
KP: I am hosting a workshop in the beautiful mountains of NC October 16-18. I have a few spots left of anyone wants a yoga/spa get away!
